This short story is the perfect introduction to bestselling author Virginia Smith’s latest series, Tales from the Goose Creek B&B. Set in the years before the Richardsons launch their bed and breakfast scheme, the quirky residents of the small Kentucky town are all in a tizzy over the upcoming Fall Festival. Alison, Al and Millie’s headstrong daughter, astounds everyone with the news that she’s getting married—in three weeks—to a Colombian! As her parents frantically try to stop the nuptials, Dr. Horatio, Goose Creek’s beloved veterinarian, is determined to solve the mystery of the six-toed kittens that have been popping up all over town.
This charming prequel will make you laugh out loud, fall in love with the delightful residents of Goose Creek, and remind you why you love reading.

Virginia Smith's writing is always a delight. I love stories with animals in them, but 6-toed cats make this one even more fun, especially because so many people are puzzled by their overwhelming appearance. To add to the fun is the misunderstanding Alison's parents have about the ethnicity of her husband-to-be. Of course, Alison didn't explain things very well which is a typical communication gap between generations. I admit I didn't figure it out until almost the end when the truth was revealed. I can't wait to read the Goose Creek series for more laughs.Product details

Dr Horatio vs the SixToed Cat Tales from the Goose Creek BB Virginia Smith 9781937671273 Books Reviews
Another book in the series by Virginia Smith. Pleasant stories with endearing characters.
This story was written as a prequel to Smith's "Tales from the Goose Creek B&B" series. Featuring the many residents of a small Kentucky town, this is an enjoyable trip back "home" to remind us of the small-town memories hiding in each of us.
Smith has done it again. Laugh out loud funny--and oh, the crazy places assumptions take her characters! My favorite quote (because I think Virginia Smith must've been taking notes at MY house) "Millie held the phone away from her ear to settle an incredulous stare on it. Honestly! For an intelligent man, Albert could be so obtuse at times." GREAT teaser for her upcoming series. I immediately pre-ordered the first book The Most Famous Illegal Goose Creek Parade.
I have enjoyed every book that I have read by Virginia Smith (so far) since I recently started reading them! I was born and raised in Kentucky so these books make me homesick (in a good way).Cute story.
This is the first book of Virginia Smith's I've read, and I think it's a charming read. The storyline facet with the cats was amusing, and the small-town characters were believable. It was refreshing to find a book where characters aren't using slang filth in conversation and thought. Thoroughly enjoyable read!
I love Smith's Goose Creek books and always feel like I am right there in town, relating to the people with their lovable quirks and qualities. Her characters get tied up in situations I think are impossible to undo, and yet Ginny neatly makes everything come together at the end. These books entertain as well as inform, often make me laugh out loud, and are a pleasure to read.
This is a cute story and nothing at all objectionable. No adult language or situations, just a peaceful story about small town life. This book reminds me very much of the Guidepost books such as The Grace Chapel Inn stories about Acorn Hill. Tame but intertwining, it is a nice place to visit and rest a spell. I plan on reading more from this series.
